The Shippon is close to the village of  Newton-le-Willows and an area of Outstanding National Beauty.  The charming market town of Bedale is only 4 miles away and it is surrounded by exceptional Yorkshire attractions.  Here in Wensleydale is the Creamery at Hawes, home of Wallace and Gromit Cheese; Hawes Ropemakers; the renowned Hardraw Force and Aysgarth Falls; Bolton Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was held prisoner; Middleham Castle, favourite of Richard lll; the Forbidden Corner; Tennants, the largest auction House in Europe with exhibitions and galleries; views from your train window on the heritage Wensleydale Railway; a tour of the Black Sheep or Theakston's Brewery at Masham; a stroll around peaceful, privately owned Jervaulx Abbey followed by a visit to the Tea Room; for garden lovers we have Constable Burton Hall Gardens, Thorpe Perrow Arboretum and Newby Hall;  not to mention breathtaking scenery, magnificent walks and fantastic village pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.
